The project involved the remediation of LNAPL and creosote contaminated soil located at the Smiths Creek Marina. The remediation included excavation and off-site disposal of approximately 1300 tons of LNAPL and creosote contaminated soil, backfilling and compacting to grade with imported certified clean fill material and stabilizing with crushed stone. Due to the close proximity of the excavation to the marina, significant dewatering was required. In addition, approximate 350 cubic yards of creosote preserved wood timbers and pilings were uncovered during the excavation, which were properly disposed of offsite.
